Introduction

XRHealth mobile app enables our patients to enroll for an online evaluation with a therapist, monitor their game results, chat with their therapist, etc.

My Responsibilities

  • Research
  • UX Design
  • Visual Design
  • A/B Testing

Research

In my research, I focused on the product enrollment flow, which was carried out in most cases via mobile.

We tested 5 users, Americans, aged 45-70, suffering from chronic pain, and having health insurance with one of the companies we are in-network with. 3 participants were tested on a mobile phone, and 2 participants were tested on a desktop.
We collected data by:

  • Recorded sessions
  • Datalog of the sessions
  • Verbal feedback

UX Design

In the research we discovered a significant drop at two points in the process - the insurance details page and the credit card details page. We decided to test new ideas:

  • Adding an informational video at the beginning of the flow
  • Changing the tone and voice of the product to be more personal, yet reliable
  • Adding testimonials and the benefits list in crucial points
  • Moving the insurance details page to earlier in the flow

A/B Testing

In the A/B Testing process, we decided on 2 types of funnels: in one we examined new changes according to the research results, and in the other, we left it as it was at the beginning.
We defined events for each page of the enrollment, decided on a 3-week test for each change, conducted fine-tuning changes afterward, and so on.

Visual Design
Enrollment

These were the main points I focused on in the product design process:

  • Create a uniform and clean appearance that corresponds with the commercial website
  • Use a personal tone of voice that accompanies the user on significant points
  • Use of clean and clear typography along the flow
  • Create an indication for orientation and location in the process
  • Design clear, large, and mobile-friendly CTA buttons
  • Add an option to call a representative during business hours and receive extended information and Q&A at every stage of the enrollment

Onboarding

During the onboarding process, the user learns to synchronize the headset with our application and is updated on what awaits him later. What guided us in designing the onboarding is creating a simple, intuitive, and short process as possible.

App Main Flows

There are 4 main flows in the app:

  • Home page - where users follow the results of the last sessions they played. Taping on the cards will lead them to expanded information.
  • Explore - provides instructions on the VR app's operation and general information about the medical blog.
  • Training Plan - a plan that patients receive from their therapist and enables them to monitor their improvement from week to week.
  • CliniChat - a fast way for personal communication between patients and their therapists.
